What can I do to save my license?

1. First and foremost, hire an experienced attorney. There are many factors to consider.
   
   
2. Request a hearing, preferably within 10 days of arrest, but in any event, no later than 30.  I will probably request the officer's presence. It will give you a preview of a trial, a rarity in criminal cases. The officer who signed the sworn certification may be required to show up and justify the suspension. Other officers may be subpoenaed.
   
   
3. Investigate the adequacy of the detention and request for a test. The officer must have had reasonable grounds to believe that  you were impaired by alcohol.
   
   
4. Check the times of events. Officers must perform the tests within certain guidelines.
   
   
5. Attend the motor vehicle hearing. Listen for fabrications and other errors.  If you fail to attend your license will be suspended.
